After a string of three wins, the Springfield Bulldogs's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to Northshore 51-45.
When it comes to explaining why Springfield lost, one person who can't be blamed is Emersyn Neal. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. The match was Neal's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hayden Shields , who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Northshore, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springfield will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Loranger at 5:30 p.m. on January 9th. Loranger will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 218th, while Springfield is ranked 100th). Northshore will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bogalusa at 6:00 p.m. on January 8th.
