Merritt Island proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past the Timber Creek Wolves 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Their offense was headlined by Ema Michell and Lydia Scott, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Amber Ives and her 11 assists. Annabelle Jones controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Several Wolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Karina Jordan, who had 21 digs and three assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Valerie Yambao, who had 18 assists and five digs.
