The Northern Virginia HomeSchool Centurions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 65-21 win over Front Royal HomeSchool at home. Northern Virginia HomeSchool has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.
Northern Virginia HomeSchool was led to victory by Anne Burkhalter and Nici Gareau. Burkhalter scored 20 points along with five steals, while Gareau dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. Gareau also posted eight assists for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Maria Burkhalter, who scored ten points.
The win (which was Northern Virginia HomeSchool's fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Front Royal HomeSchool, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Northern Virginia HomeSchool will head out on the road to face off against Grace Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Northern Virginia HomeSchool focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Saturday. Front Royal HomeSchool does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
