The Roosevelt Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 64-26 loss at the hands of Pinkston. Roosevelt lost against Pinkston in their previous head to head back in November of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 69-6 score last time.
Pinkston was led to victory by Cenaya Calhoun- jingles and Jaliyah Spencer. Calhoun- jingles scored 23 points along with seven assists and five rebounds, while Spencer scored 26 points along with five rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Calhoun- jingles has scored at least 25% of Pinkston's points.
Roosevelt's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-12. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.6 points per game. As for Pinkston, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-20.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will take on Wilmer-Hutchins at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pinkston, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
