While losing is never fun, St. Charles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 374th, while Worthington Christian is ranked 142nd).
Worthington Christian had a senior duo take command as Samuel Johnson dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds and Jonah Lewis scored 24 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least a third of Worthington Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Owusu Sarfo, who scored a point along with three steals.
St. Charles' defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Worthington Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Charles will face off against Bishop Watterson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Watterson is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. As for Worthington Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Grandview Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
