After flying high against the Trimble Tech Bulldogs last Friday, The North Side Steers came back down to earth. North Side had to suffer through a rough 57-6 loss at the hands of Colleyville Heritage. Having soared to a lofty 35 points in the game before, North Side couldn't push the score so high this time.
Luke Ullrich continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Colleyville Heritage, throwing for 175 yards and five touchdowns while completing 84.2% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Braden Blueitt was another key contributor, picking up 99 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
North Side's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 4-4. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-2 Wilmer-Hutchins and 6-2 Wyatt (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 72.6% over those games). As for Colleyville Heritage, the win was the sixth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
North Side will head out on the road to face off against Southwest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southwest is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Colleyville Heritage, they will be playing at home against Polytechnic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Polytechnic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 943rd, while Colleyville Heritage is ranked 84th).
