In what's become a running theme this season, the Byers Lions gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Falkner 69-41 on the road. The victory was nothing new for Byers as they're now sitting on five straight.
Falkner's loss came despite strong showings from Elijah Mauney and Chris Nunley. Mauney scored 19 points, while Nunley scored 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Byers is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Falkner, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-15.
Byers does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Falkner and the Rebels will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Mississippi (Thrasher is ranked 232nd, while the Eagles are ranked 251st).
