The Leon Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 75-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Normangee. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Normangee's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Pj Edwards, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. Edwards hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Kirven, who scored 18 points along with 8 rebounds and 7 assists.
Leon's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Normangee, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
Leon will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Richards at 9:00 a.m. Normangee will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Aggieland HomeSchool at 3:00 p.m. on December 9th. Aggieland HomeSchool is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 15 games.
