For the first time this season, Glendora will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to face off against the Charter Oak Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Glendora will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
Glendora took a loss when they played away from home on September 12th, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They breezed past Ayala to the tune of 45-7. The Tartans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

A big part of Glendora's win came down to the chemistry between Sebastian Lawrence and his top target Jarod Ceniceros. Lawrence threw for 148 yards and two touchdowns while Ceniceros picked up 37 receiving yards and one score. The dominant performance also gave Lawrence a new career-high in passer rating (136.4).
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Glendora, racking up 15 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Nazir McGlothen, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Glendora didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Johnny Jabbour, McGlothen, and Harry Hiwakawa picked up one apiece. Jabbour got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Charter Oak blew past Jordan, posting a 42-7 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Chargers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Panthers are ranked 437th).
Charter Oak's win came from a few key players Glendora will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Corin Berry, who threw for 177 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Torry Huff also helped with two scores in total.
One reason for the win was Charter Oak's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Joel Sanchez, Tristan Taylor, and Jayden Harris, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Glendora's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Charter Oak, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Glendora suffered a grim 38-14 defeat to Charter Oak when the teams last played back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Berry, who threw for 232 yards and three TDs while completing 73.9% of his passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Now that the Tartans know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
