The Burke Cougars's game on Tuesday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of North Central by a score of 53-50. Burke was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as North Central apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.
Jackson Hallock was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds for North Central. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for Hallock. The team also got some help courtesy of Keian Fischer, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Burke's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1. As for North Central, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burke will challenge Platte/Geddes at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Central, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Mary's at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in St. Mary's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches.
