Hudson not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 20, 2024 (when they won 7-1). Everything went their way against North Middlesex Regional as they made off with a 9-3 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Hawks as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Jake Attaway made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Caelen O'Brien was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Moura, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Hudson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Hudson now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Assabet Valley RVT, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Assabet Valley RVT has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hudson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Assabet Valley RVT came up short against Hudson in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 7-2. Can the Aztecs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
