The Fort Hancock Mustangs put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Chaparral with a sharp 57-36 win. Fans of Fort Hancock have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Alessandra Jimenez was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 19 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Fort Hancock's points. Jackeline Arriaga was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Fort Hancock's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Chaparral, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Fort Hancock will square off against Mountain View at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chaparral, they will head out on the road to face off against Cobre at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
