The Vienna Eagles won against the Christopher Bearcats last Tuesday with 66 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Vienna came out on top against Christopher by a score of 66-54. Given Vienna's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while Christopher is ranked 435th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Vienna had a senior duo take command as Owen Treat dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten assists and Hunter Webb scored 18 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Webb has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayton Nichols, who scored seven points along with three blocks.
Vienna pushed their record up to 19-6 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.8 points per game. As for Christopher, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.
Vienna won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Sesser-Valier at 6:30 p.m. on January 27th. Sesser-Valier is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
