Softball Recap: Port Washington's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Port Washington didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Manitowoc Lincoln Ships on Saturday as they made off with a 15-5 win. Considering the Pirates have won six matches by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Port Washington, bringing their record up to 7-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Manitowoc Lincoln, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Coming up, Port Washington will face off against Kewaskum at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Pirates' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Manitowoc Lincoln, they will square off against Wauwatosa East at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Red Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.88 runs per game on average), something the Ships will no doubt try to take advantage of.
