Two dominant backs in Eli Wilson and Tyson Wolcott are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. After each having a week off, the Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars and the Friendship Christian Commanders will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 3:00 p.m. on November 30th. Middle Tennessee Christian will be looking to keep their ten-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Middle Tennessee Christian had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 35-27 win over Columbia Academy on Friday.
It was another big night for Wilson, who rushed for 220 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.9 yards per carry. Wilson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 66 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Briggs Boyd, who gained 92 total yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Friendship Christian can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They claimed a resounding 56-14 win over Nashville Christian at home. The victory was familiar territory for Friendship Christian who now have five in a row.
Wolcott continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 228 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Wolcott is absolutely dominating the rushing yard category: he's posted at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Dontae Parker, who rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown.
Middle Tennessee Christian's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Friendship Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.
Middle Tennessee Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Friendship Christian in their previous meeting back in September, sneaking past 16-14. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Friendship Christian's Wolcott, who rushed for 157 yards and a touchdown.
