Highland and Coeur d'Alene are an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2014, but not for long. The Highland Rams will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Coeur d'Alene Vikings at 1:00 p.m. on November 18th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Highland is ranked first, while Coeur d'Alene is ranked fifth).
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Highland had no problem doing just that on Friday. They snuck past Meridian with a 20-14 victory.
Highland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jackson Riddle, who rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Riddle really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run. Rhidge Barela also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Coeur d'Alene came tearing into Friday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Eagle 7-6.
Their wins bumped Highland to 10-1 and Coeur d'Alene to 9-2.
Highland came up short against Coeur d'Alene in their previous meeting back in November of 2019, falling 23-15. Thankfully for Highland, Jack Prka (who rushed for 32 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 239 yards and a touchdown while completing 72.4% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
