Make it six blowout wins for the Leroy Bears this season. They breezed by Fruitdale on the road to the tune of 51-16. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-3.
It was another big night for Chauncey Dixon, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and five blocks. Marley Dixon was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six steals.
When it comes to explaining why Fruitdale lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Genna Ivy. Despite the final result, she scored seven points along with two steals. That was a full 43.8% of Fruitdale's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Fruitdale struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Leroy posted nine assists.
Leroy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Fruitdale, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Leroy will be playing in front of their home fans against Washington County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fruitdale, they will head out on the road to challenge Millry at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Millry is on a five-game streak of home losses, Fruitdale a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
