Chester is a perfect 5-0 against Princeton since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Volcanoes will host the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Chester is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
Chester will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Plumas Charter on Wednesday. The Volcanoes blew past the Warriors 21-3. The Volcanoes haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Jenna Schlueter made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with five runs, two RBI, and one double. Those five runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sarah Branch, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with five runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Nancy Christianson, who went 4-for-5 with six RBI and one run.
Chester was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Princeton posted their closest victory since April 25, 2024 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out CORE Butte 9-8. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Jada Dillard was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
Chester's win bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Princeton, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6-1.
Chester took their win against Princeton in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 9-1 score. Will the Volcanoes repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
