The biggest upset of the week belonged to Southern Boone, who took down 185th ranked Eldon, 14-12. Jeremy Hill ran for 115 yards and caught one passes for seven yards in the win.
California extended the longest winning streak in Tri-County this week by beating Warsaw, 44-7. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Osage's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Bo Dean threw for 276 and one touchdown and Dylan Jeffries had 170 yards receiving. On the ground Dean chipped in 125 yards. Collin Samuelson helped Osage's passing attack out by catching five balls for 91 yards.
The Indians' Dean and Jeffries have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Dean has thrown for 1838 yards this season, while Jeffries, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 49 catches for 866 yards. The Eagles' Hill leads the league in rushing yards with 991.
Osage's Dean is within 162 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against the Wildcats.
Hallsville's Dalton Lindsay is a mere 10 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 139 carries Lindsay has accumulated 990 yard this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Mustangs take on Blair Oaks. At the moment, Eldon is in fifth, while the Falcons are in second.
Shannon Jolley's team moved up to 149 from 185 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Tri-County. The Mustangs climbed the ranks as a result of losing to Roger VanDeZande's team 14-12.
