The St. Bernard's Crusaders will look to defend their home field on Saturday against the Terra Linda Trojans at 1:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
St. Bernard's put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They breezed by Eureka at home to the tune of 37-0. Given St. Bernard's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 400th, while Eureka is ranked 808th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wyatt Simoni was his usual excellent self, rushing for 50 yards and three touchdowns. Simoni hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games.
St. Bernard's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Simoni was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Meanwhile, Terra Linda beat San Rafael 21-14 on Friday. The victory was just what Terra Linda needed coming off of a 55-7 loss in their prior contest.
Terra Linda had a senior duo take command as Jonah Truett rushed for 152 yards while picking up 7.2 yards per carry and Garrett Pardo rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns. Dimitri Kokalis did his part by putting the 'special' in special teams, booting in three field goals.
St. Bernard's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Terra Linda, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-5.
