Goose Creek won the last time they faced Berkeley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Goose Creek Gators slipped by the Berkeley Stags 49-48. Winning may never get old, but the Gators sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Goose Creek got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aubrey Downey out in front who posted 13 points. Celeste Griffin was another key player, putting up 11 points.
Despite the loss, Berkeley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Amani Mccray went 5 of 10 en route to 10 points and six boards. Mccray continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Thomas, who earned nine points and three steals.
Goose Creek now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Berkeley, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.
Goose Creek will welcome Lucy Beckham at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lucy Beckham has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Berkeley, they will head out to face off against Wando at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wando is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Berkeley a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
