The Calexico Bulldogs had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-47 win over San Ysidro on Saturday. For Calexico, this counts as revenge for the 84-40 loss San Ysidro walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2021.
Calexico found their leader in underclassman Dany Carreon, who scored 15 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Carreon has scored at least 25% of Calexico's points. Another player making a difference was Carlo Monta?o, who scored 7 points.
Calexico's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for San Ysidro, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Calexico is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Calipatria at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Calipatria presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Calexico in California (Calipatria is ranked 194th, while Calexico is ranked 936th). As for San Ysidro, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grossmont at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
