Swansboro is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Person to the tune of 75-43. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 20 points or more this season.
Swansboro relied on the efforts of Tayvion Tangiora, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 14 boards, and Jermaine Cunningham, who went 8-for-17 to rack up 16 points in addition to eight assists and five rebounds. What's more, Tangiora also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Jonah Holt was another key player, putting up ten points and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Southern School of Energy and Sustainability against J.H. Rose on Friday as the squad secured a 77-42 victory. The Spartans are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the 23rd match they've won by 20+ points this season.
Swansboro better keep an eye on Jackson Keith. He was instrumental in Southern School of Energy and Sustainability's win, dropping a double-double with 35 points and 14 boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which Keith has scored at least a third of Southern School of Energy and Sustainability's points. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Morman Jr., who shot 80% from the field on his way to 21 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Southern School of Energy and Sustainability was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They are a perfect 28-0 when they've passed the ball that well.
Southern School of Energy and Sustainability pushed their record up to 29-2 with the win, which was their 32nd straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.5 points over those games. As for Swansboro, their victory bumped their record up to 25-1.
Monday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Swansboro has been crazy accurate this season, having nailed 47.6% of their field goals per game. However, it's not like Southern School of Energy and Sustainability struggles in that department as they've drained 51.7% of their shots this season.
