The Stonington Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Lyman Memorial Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Stonington will be strutting in after a win while Lyman Memorial will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Tuesday, Stonington was fully in charge, breezing past Montville 75-43 at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Stonington.
Meanwhile, Lyman Memorial came up short against Ellington on Wednesday and fell 58-46. Lyman Memorial has not had much luck with Ellington recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Kevin Botticello , who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Christiansen, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Stonington's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Lyman Memorial, they bumped their record down to 0-2 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Stonington came out on top in a nail-biter against Lyman Memorial when the teams last played back in December of 2022, sneaking past 68-65. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Lyman Memorial's Jaiden Lopez, who scored 24 points.
