Having just played yesterday, the Northfield Nighthawks will head out on the road to face off against the Monarch Coyotes at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.
Northfield is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Denver South 75-31. With that win, the Nighthawks brought their scoring average up to 50.8 points per game.

LaPorsha Allen went supernova for Northfield, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 16 boards. That's the most points Allen has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aliyah Herron, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 18 points and three steals.
Northfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in seven consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Monarch had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They breezed by the Thunderhawks to the tune of 62-10. Given the Coyotes' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Thunderhawks are ranked 302nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Northfield better keep an eye on Sienna Williams. She was instrumental in Monarch's win, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Williams is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Ginger Milot was another key player, going 5 for 7 en route to 12 points in addition to seven assists and five steals.
Northfield has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Monarch, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Northfield has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Monarch struggles in that department as they've been averaging 39.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Northfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Monarch in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, sneaking past 41-39. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Williams, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 30 rebounds. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Northfield still be able to contain Williams? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
