The Robinson Rams will challenge the South County Stallion at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Robinson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Robinson made easy work of Fairfax and carried off an 11-3 win. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Juliet Donovan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Aleaha Burgy and Izzy Covey did most of the damage at the plate: Burgy went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Covey went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave Covey a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Katie Gibson, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Robinson hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, South County came up short against Lake Braddock on Friday, falling 10-3. That's two games in a row now that the Stallion have lost by exactly seven runs.
South County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexa Meckley, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
This is the second loss in a row for South County and nudges their season record down to 12-6. As for Robinson, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Robinson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like South County struggles in that department as they've averaged .346. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
