It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Dunlap had no problem doing just that  on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Galesburg Silver Streaks as they made off with  a  17-0 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by six  runs or more this season.
 Kaitlyn Atkinson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   keeping things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  triple and one  RBI. That  triple was  her first of the season.
 In other batting news,  Rachel Mies and  Lexi Hamer did most of the damage at the plate:  Mies  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  runs and two  RBI, while  Hamer  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with two  runs and one  RBI.  Claire Morris was another key player,  getting on base  in two of her three plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
 Dunlap was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Galesburg only posted a  batting average of  .000.
Dunlap pushed their record up to 27-5 with the  victory, which was their third straight  at home. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Galesburg,  they are  on  a  39-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-34.
