The St. Mary's Lancers will square off against the Sacred Heart Academy Sharks at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Mary's is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
On Monday, St. Mary's made easy work of Mount Mercy Academy and carried off a 16-6 win. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by ten runs or more this season.

Danielle Spiegel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over four innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, St. Mary's let Natalie Cully and Lauren Payne run wild. Cully went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Payne went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Cully a new career-high. Jada Mushat was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.
St. Mary's kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over Mount St. Mary Academy on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Thunder: they've now won three in a row.
Sacred Heart Academy secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Rose Ciocca, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
St. Mary's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Sacred Heart Academy, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Sacred Heart Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: St. Mary's has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .466. It's a different story for Sacred Heart Academy, though, as they've only averaged .340. Will they be able to contain St. Mary's hitters?
Everything went St. Mary's way against Sacred Heart Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as St. Mary's made off with a 21-11 victory. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Sharks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
