The Evansville Memorial Tigers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They managed a 21-16 win over Evansville Reitz on Friday. The win was nothing new for Evansville Memorial as they're now sitting on three straight.
Evansville Memorial was led to victory by Luke Ellspermann and Dylen Kendrick. Ellspermann rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown, while Kendrick gained 176 total yards and two touchdowns. Kendrick's longest reception was for an incredible 70 yards.
Although Evansville Reitz took the loss, they still got scores from Levi Oxley and Hayden Summers.
Evansville Memorial's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Evansville Reitz, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-1.
Evansville Memorial will look to defend their home field on Friday against East Central at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in East Central's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season. Evansville Reitz does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
