There's no place like home for the Morristown Yellow Jackets, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Monday. They strolled past Indianapolis Lutheran with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 58-43. Morristown pushed the score to 50-26 by the end of the third, a deficit the Saints cut but never quite recovered from.
Leading Morristown to victory were Nevaeh Cox and Emma Nelson. Cox scored 16 points, while Nelson scored 20 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nelson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jayla Keithley, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grace King, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. King hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 13 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlyn Brooks, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Morristown is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-13 record this season. As for Indianapolis Lutheran, they dropped their record down to 13-9 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Morristown will face off against the Mohawks at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Waldron focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday. As for Indianapolis Lutheran, they will take on the Eels at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eminence has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 0-3 during that stretch of close contests.
