The Detroit Cristo Rey WOLVES will head out on the road to square off against the Academy of the Sacred Heart Gazelles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Detroit Cristo Rey strolled past the Jaguars with points to spare, taking the game 48-33. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Detroit Cristo Rey.
Detroit Cristo Rey can attribute much of their success to Jada Dunkin, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds, and Ericka Sheridan, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Sheridan has scored at least a third of Detroit Cristo Rey's points.
Meanwhile, Academy of the Sacred Heart came tearing into Tuesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 41-29 win over Austin Catholic.
Detroit Cristo Rey's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Academy of the Sacred Heart, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Detroit Cristo Rey came up short against the Gazelles when the teams last played back in January, falling 36-31. Can Detroit Cristo Rey avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
