Basketball Game Preview: Lawrence Academy Warriors vs. Ridgecroft Rams

Lawrence Academy is 1-9 against Ridgecroft since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lawrence Academy Warriors will head out to take on the Ridgecroft Rams at 7:00 p.m. Lawrence Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Ridgecroft likes a good challenge.

Last Thursday, Lawrence Academy humbled Halifax Academy with a 72-41 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.

Nike Wiggins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 12 of 22 on his way to 28 points and six rebounds. The contest was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Hoggard, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds.

Lawrence Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Ridgecroft earned a 79-66 victory over Pungo Christian Academy on Tuesday.

Lawrence Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points per game. As for Ridgecroft, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

Lawrence Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Ridgecroft when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 74-66. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lawrence Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
