It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the TECH Freire Charter Dragons can now relate to. They fell 44-36 to the Cougars on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points TECH Freire Charter has scored all season.
Martin Luther King found their leader in underclassman Benito Scott, who scored 14 points along with five steals. Makhai Robinson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
TECH Freire Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Martin Luther King, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. TECH Freire Charter will challenge Thomas A. Edison at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Pennsylvania (TECH Freire Charter is ranked 403rd, while Thomas A. Edison is ranked 422nd). As for Martin Luther King, they will head out on the road to square off against Constitution at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Constitution focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six last Saturday.
