If the Jesuit Tigers were feeling good off their 75-50 takedown of the King Lions last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Jesuit fell just short of Tampa Catholic by a score of 54-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Jesuit has suffered yet this season.
Despite the loss, Jesuit still got an impressive performance from Christopher Moliere, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moliere has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Boakye, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
It was another big night for Isaiah Campbell-Finch, who scored 21 points along with two steals for Tampa Catholic. Campbell-Finch is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played. Colby Cannizzaro was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Jesuit's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Tampa Catholic, they pushed their record up to 9-11 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home.
Jesuit will head out on the road to take on Middleton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Middleton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 687th, while Jesuit is ranked 71st). Tampa Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lehigh at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th. Lehigh has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 235 points over their last three games.
