Sierra Canyon is a perfect 4-0 against Serra since October of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Sierra Canyon's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Sierra Canyon is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of California's top teams: Orange Lutheran, who was ranked eighth at the time (Sierra Canyon was ranked fourth). The Trailblazers breezed past the Lancers to the tune of 41-9 two weeks ago. Fans of the Trailblazers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Sierra Canyon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaxsen Stokes, who rushed for 48 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 39 receiving yards. Another signal caller making a difference was Laird Finkel, who threw for 273 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Serra, who bounced back after a loss on the road on September 12th. They came out on top against Oaks Christian by a score of 19-10 last Friday.

Serra didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jamari Tolliver, Duvay Williams, and Marcellous Ryan picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Oaks Christian's side was Khary Wilder, who picked up a sack and made nine total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Sierra Canyon's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points over those games. As for Serra, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Sierra Canyon barely slipped by Serra in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, winning 21-20. Do the Trailblazers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavaliers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
