It was a good run, but the South Warren Spartans unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 81-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Adair County. While losing is never fun, South Warren can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Adair County is ranked fifth).
Adair County was led to victory by Isaiah Cochran and Connor Loy. Cochran dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Loy scored 26 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The match was Loy's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brayton Coomer, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
South Warren's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Adair County, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
South Warren will be home for the holidays to greet East Jessamine at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Adair County will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Glasgow at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. Glasgow is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
