It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Cypress Creek Bears can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Wolverines on the road and fell 68-37. While losing is never fun, Cypress Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 367th, while Windermere is ranked 24th).
Despite the loss, Cypress Creek saw an underclassman step up: Kevin Edou scored ten points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kason Beezer, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Cypress Creek has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-17 record this season. As for Windermere, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 18-7.
Cypress Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Windermere will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Olympia at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. One thing working in Windermere's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 12 matchups.
