American Canyon and Casa Grande are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. American Canyon will venture away from home to challenge Casa Grande at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
American Canyon had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Napa on Wednesday. American Canyon was the clear victor by a 14-5 margin over Napa. The matchup marked the Wolves' most dominant win of the season so far.

Kate Sosa made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Deja Montgomery, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five stolen bases, and three runs. That home run was her first of the season. Madison Del Castillo was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
American Canyon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Napa only posted a batting average of .321.
Casa Grande not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 8, 2024. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Sonoma Valley. The Gauchos haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Lauren Ketchu was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Veronica Nunez-Miller, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.
American Canyon pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Casa Grande, they now have a winning record of 4-3-1.
American Canyon's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's contest. American Canyon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Casa Grande, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will American Canyon continue to outrun the ball?
American Canyon might still be hurting after the 13-2 loss they got from Casa Grande in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can American Canyon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
