Leading Gretna to victory were Kade Cook and Alex Wilcoxson. Cook scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds, while Wilcoxson scored 26 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Landon Pokorski, who scored 14 points along with 7 assists and 5 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Lincoln Southeast lost, one person who can't be blamed is Taye Moore. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals. Jake Hilkemann was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Gretna's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Lincoln Southeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Gretna will be playing in front of their home fans against Norfolk at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Norfolk focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Thursday.
