The Madison Warhawks were the 55-14 winner over the St. Augustine Saints when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Madison suffered a tough 34-14 defeat at the hands of St. Augustine on Friday. Madison has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ryley Parenteau threw for 115 yards on 11 of 21 attempts. Jaylon Brown was his top target, gaining 82 total yards.
St. Augustine's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brady Palmer, who threw for 224 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. Honor Faalave-johnson also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Madison has fallen quite a ways from their 9-2 record last season and are now at 3-6. As for St. Augustine, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison will take on University City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. University City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 340th, while Madison is ranked 144th). As for St. Augustine, they will head out on the road to face off against Cathedral Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cathedral Catholic is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
