The Gateway Gators waltzed into their matchup Thursday with four straight wins but they left with five. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Laurel Highlands 82-43 at home. Gateway's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Despite the loss, Laurel Highlands still got an impressive performance from Aiden Black, who scored 12 points. The matchup was Black's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Martin, who scored eight points.
Gateway's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points per game. As for Laurel Highlands, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
