Carle Place's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Caitlin Leary, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists, and Paige Selhorn, who scored 17 points along with four steals. Leary is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 15 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Gomes, who scored four points along with 18 rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 16-16 at halftime, East Rockaway was not quite the Baymen's equal in the second half back in January. East Rockaway fell 40-30 to the Baymen.
Carle Place's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for East Rockaway, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Carle Place and the Rocks were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in January, but the Frogs came up empty-handed after a 54-53 loss. Can Carle Place avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
