The Apollo Eagles will square off against the Bowling Green Purples at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Bowling Green will be up against a hot Apollo team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Eagles' way against Hancock County on Tuesday as they made off with a 13-1 victory. That looming 13-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Eagles yet this season.
Meanwhile, Bowling Green made easy work of Logan County on Monday and carried off a 9-3 win.
Colt Isenberg was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Isenberg was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Jack Cowan was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. James Yarbrough was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Bowling Green always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Logan County only posted an OBP of .250.
Bowling Green's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Apollo, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Apollo skirted past Bowling Green 6-5 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Purples have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
