Christian Brothers Academy is 3-0 against Marcellus since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Christian Brothers Academy Brothers will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Marcellus Mustangs at 8:15 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, it was close, but the Brothers sidestepped the Brothers for a 53-50 victory. The victory was just what the Brothers needed coming off of a 67-42 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Marcellus put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against General Brown as Marcellus made off with a 61-41 victory. The result was nothing new for Marcellus, who have now won four matches by 20 points or more so far this season.
Marcellus found their leader in underclassman Tucker Burnett, who scored 15 points. The match was Burnett's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Will Burnett was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
The Brothers' win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Marcellus, their victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0.
Christian Brothers Academy took their win against Marcellus when the teams last played back in February of 2021 by a conclusive 70-45. Will Christian Brothers Academy repeat their success, or does Marcellus have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
