After a string of three wins, Fort Wayne South Side's good fortune finally ran out two weeks ago. They had to suffer through a rough 78-20 loss at the hands of Homestead. While losing is never fun, Fort Wayne South Side can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while Homestead is ranked 18th).
Carroll can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They snuck past Fort Wayne Bishop Luers with a 52-48 win.
Carroll's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaidyn Fuller, who almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, 11 rebounds, and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fuller has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lily George, who scored 19 points.
Fort Wayne South Side's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Carroll, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-13.
Fort Wayne South Side was dealt a bruising 71-31 loss at the hands of Carroll in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Fort Wayne South Side, Taylor Fordyce (who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
