The Curry Yellowjackets will square off against the Sparkman Senators at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Curry will be looking to extend their current 20-game winning streak.
Curry is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Hewitt-Trussville, who was ranked 17th at the time (Curry was ranked fourth). The Yellowjackets had just enough and edged out the Huskies 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Yellowjackets have posted since March 8th.

Skiely Perry tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ambrey Taylor, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Lanie West, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one RBI.
Curry hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 12 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Sparkman got the win against Meade County on Thursday by a conclusive 9-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Senators.
Eden Parker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Parker was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.
In other batting news, Bella Mayfield was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Taylor Gilreath was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Curry's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Sparkman, their win bumped their record up to 23-7-1.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Curry has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .541. However, it's not like Sparkman struggles in that department as they've averaged .451. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Curry skirted past Sparkman 5-3 when the teams last played back in March of 2016. Do the Yellowjackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Senators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
