The Dighton Hornets stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by St. Francis on the road to the tune of 68-30. The win was just business as usual for Dighton, who after eight games remain undefeated this season.
Leading Dighton to victory were Carson Shimer and Daniel Cramer. Shimer scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks, while Cramer scored 19 points along with five steals. Cramer is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was George Von Leonrod, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Dighton pushed their record up to 8-0 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for St. Francis, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Dighton will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against St. Francis. St. Francis will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 345th, while Dighton is ranked 18th). As for St. Francis, they will head out on the road to challenge Dighton. Hopefully Dighton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday.
