The Jefferson Cougars will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Hedgesville Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Jefferson faced the Applemen in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Jefferson managed a 43-38 win over the Applemen. The victory was some much needed relief for Jefferson as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Jaiden Gladney continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Jefferson's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adonis Troxell, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Hedgesville slipped by the Applemen 44-43 on Friday.
Jefferson's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-5. As for Hedgesville, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
