Lincoln is 8-0 against Burton since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Lincoln Mustangs will look to defend their home field against the Burton Pumas at 1:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Lincoln's favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Burton has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Lincoln can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent match on Saturday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 50-6 victory over Washington. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-6.
Jamelle Newman had a dynamite game for Lincoln, rushing for 173 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Newman's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards.
Meanwhile, Burton fell victim to Balboa's stalwart defense two weeks ago and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Buccaneers 57-0. Burton has struggled against Balboa recently, as their match two weeks ago was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Lincoln's victory lifted them to 6-3 while Burton's loss dropped them down to 1-6.
Everything came up roses for Lincoln against Burton when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 51-14 win. Will Lincoln repeat their success, or does Burton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
