The Gloucester County Christian Conquerors extended their postseason success on Saturday against The Pilgrim Academy Pioneers. They had just enough and edged the Pioneers out 61-58. The victory was just what Gloucester County Christian needed coming off of a 83-51 defeat in their prior match.
Shane Bradway was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with two steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Gloucester County Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Ben Small, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
The Pilgrim Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mason Parmer, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Miller, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, The Pilgrim Academy were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gloucester County Christian only posted six assists.
The win got Gloucester County Christian back to even at 12-12. As for The Pilgrim Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-10.
Gloucester County Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. The Pilgrim Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
